A warm welcome to you, and thank you for your interest and for supporting The Journey Within Spiritualist Church and Center for Spiritual Evolvement. The project that started three decades ago as a dream and vision by a gifted and compassionate former Roman Catholic nun has become an institution that has served and brought healing, hope, and purpose to countless individuals. Reverend Janet was an incredibly special person, and the church would not be what it is today were it not for her leadership, pioneering spirit, mediumship ability, and dedication to God, Spirit, and people.

 

As we build a bridge to the future for our community, we are guided by a mission and vision that embody forward-thinking, unity, and compassionate ethical service. The Journey Within operates with 4 Cs as Pillars.

Spiritualism is a religion which endeavors to show that life is continuous, and death is but a doorway to the ‘real’ reality. We do this by connecting with Spirit through a process we refer to as mediumship. It is a beautiful and sacred experience when one feels the touch of the Spirit. To live our best lives, we foster connection with the living!

We genuinely believe in connection with all things: God, the universe, the planet, society, others, family, self. To foster connection, one communicates as best and as clearly as possible in the moment. Effective communication involves really listening and speaking clearly. We also have compassion to understand that not all communication is perfect, others are not perfect, and we are not perfect. To walk a mile in another person’s shoes and try to understand, through compassion, what they might be going through. Compassion over judgement. Through connection, communication, and compassion, we can build a community. Unique and imperfect souls united in common cause with a greater sense of purpose. This is the foundation upon which we build.

We welcome you to our spiritual community and home. Please know that whatever you may be going through, there is always a way forward, and the promise of a new day. If you are with us for a Divine service, for a class, or for many years, we are grateful for your presence. We strive to be a place of healing and hope. A place where spiritual seekers can explore divine connections and deepen their understanding of the mysteries of the universe. Life is a winding road with many paths. As we become more conscious in our living, we begin to understand that it is not about getting anything or anywhere. The Journey is the Destination.
