Welcome, this hands-on program will teach you how to open your healing abilities to the Healing modality of Reiki.
Reiki is a holistic healing practice that channels universal life force energy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The term Reiki is derived from the Japanese words rei (universal) and ki (life force energy).
Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle technique that aims to balance and harmonize the energy within the body, which supports the body’s innate healing abilities. It is based on the understanding that well-being and vitality are achieved when one’s life force energy is strong and flowing freely. In contrast, energetic blockages or imbalances in this energy can lead to discomfort or illness.
Reiki can alleviate stress, reduce pain, enhance relaxation, and promote self-awareness and spiritual growth. This natural healing method is accessible to anyone who wishes to learn it.
Before someone can practice Reiki, they need to undergo a process known as a Reiki attunement. This requirement sets Reiki apart from other modalities because it cannot simply be learned by reading a book or accessing instructional materials.
Certification will be given for each level attained.
Minister Dennis Battersby is an ordained minister with the Journey Within Spiritual National Union Church. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Health Planning and Administration and is a graduate of the Institute for Therapeutic Massage certified in massage and personal training. He is a Mediumistic Healer, a licensed Massage Therapist within the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as a Reiki Master/Teacher. He owns and operates the Battersby Wellness Center LLC and the Inner Balance Healing Sanctuary in Erie, Pennsylvania. Dennis has taught hundreds of students in the New York metropolitan area Reiki for the last 16 years. He is also a moderator for the Journey Within Healer’s Gathering that meets on Tuesday evenings. The last 12 years Dennis studied extensively Spiritual Healing and Mediumship through the Inner Quest Foundation and the Journey Within.
There will be no in-person service Sunday, January 7, 2024 due to the inclement weather. Please join us for our online service.

The Journey Within has participated in hundreds of different charity events and fundraisers over our church’s lifetime. We are currently involved in:
Heifer International – Wells for Africa– Maasai Girls Fund– Food Bank of Northern NJ– Homes for Heroes . We collect food and clothing here in the chapel for our local pantries. The Journey Within is looking for volunteers to join together in two new ventures. One is the expansion of volunteerism at CUMAC in Paterson, NJ. Our other out-reach will be a once a month trip into NYC to distribute food and care kits for those in need. We will as well continue our Toys for local families in need at Christmas.
The Journey Within invites you to join our hiking group which meets monthly. Minister Thomas Regenauer has brought his Yoga classes to the church so please watch for dates for sessions including beginners. If you have any suggestions for other physical activities, please let us know.

The Spiritualist tradition encourages each of us to become our own
philosopher in life. We provide Philosophy and cake discussions, as well as Fireside chats to discuss the rich history of Spiritualism. There are also many opportunities to attend classes with our visiting overseas tutors on a wide variety of topics, please check the newsletter for dates and times. We invite you to join us on Sundays at services for our Minister’s address.
Seniors Community Club

This group is for anyone 55 years and older. We have monthly activities in which you can participate. These may include a movie, a meal or just fellowship. If you are aware of any senior in need of help at their home or would like a visiting angel to stop by, please let us know.
